Daylesford Craft Experience

Yesterday I trundled off to the Daylesford Craft Experience - a one day retreat consisting of lots of food, lots of women and lots of hand stitching!

While there, I had the pleasure of meeting both Kristen Doran and Melanie Hurlston (from Melly & Me).  Jodie Carlton was there too, but I already knew her... anyone who is anyone in Ballarat knows Jodie!

Most of the day I worked on stitching a motif designed by Kristen, which I plan on using in a patchwork scarf:

Here are some of the other designs that were on display from these very talented young women.  Such an inspiration!

I bought the kit to make Melly's Elephant Cushion, which involves needle turn applique - a technique I haven't ever tried before:

It was such an enjoyable day, but I sure was tired by the time I got home!

  1. Once you master needleturn you can teach me !

  2. Wasn't it a great day. Good luck with the needleturn; mine has always been spectacularly awful! Thank you for bringing the owlies; unfortunately I accidentally left them behind and they haven't turned up yet. Fingers crossed...

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. It really means the world to me! Enjoy your day xx
