Daylesford Craft Experience

Yesterday I trundled off to the Daylesford Craft Experience - a one day retreat consisting of lots of food, lots of women and lots of hand stitching!   

While there, I had the pleasure of meeting both Kristen Doran and Melanie Hurlston (from Melly & Me).  Jodie Carlton was there too, but I already knew her... anyone who is anyone in Ballarat knows Jodie!  

Most of the day I worked on stitching a motif designed by Kristen, which I plan on using in a patchwork scarf:

I bought the kit to make Melly's Elephant Cushion, which involves needle turn applique - a technique I haven't ever tried before: 


It was such an enjoyable day, but I sure was tired by the time I got home!

  2. Wasn't it a great day. Good luck with the needleturn; mine has always been spectacularly awful! Thank you for bringing the owlies; unfortunately I accidentally left them behind and they haven't turned up yet. Fingers crossed...
